Import Contacts

You can import contacts directly from your Gmail, or Yahoo! Mail, email client—or import a contacts list from another address book to the eFax Corporate application.

Import Email-Client Contacts into eFax Corporate

To import contacts from your Gmail, or Yahoo! Mail, account:

  2. Click VIEW FAXES. The Message Center appears.  (NOTE: If you know your account lets you receive faxes as well as send them—and you do not see the VIEW FAXES link: Click the ACCOUNT DETAILS link, then the Preferences tab, then the Edit link in the Message Center section. Then, click the Yes button underneath Display the messages..., then Update to save and exit.)
  3. Click the Contacts tab, then the Import drop-down arrow; and select your email provider.
  4. In the window that appears: Enter your email address and password; then follow the instructions to authorize access to your contacts. They will then load into your eFax Corporate address book.

Import a Contacts List into eFax Corporate

If you have a large number of contacts to add from another address book (e.g., Outlook), you can import them into eFax Corporate Contacts via a .csv (comma-separated values) file. To do so:

  1. Export a .csv file from your outside email client to your computer, making sure it contains the following fields in the order stated—and in the format shown: FirstName, LastName, Company, Email, Fax.

Then, to import the .csv file from your computer into eFax Corporate Contacts:

  1. Follow the same instructions as stated in steps 1-2 in the above procedure.
  2. Click the Contacts tab, then the Import drop-down arrow; and select Import CSV File. The Import CSV File dialog box appears.
  3. Click the Browse button (the Open dialog box appears) to locate and select the stored .csv file; then click Open. The selected file appears in the File to Import textbox of the Import CSV File dialog box.
  4. Click Import. The contact names appear.

Note: There is no need to worry about potentially duplicating contacts by uploading multiple contact lists. The eFax Corporate system will check the list for you and only upload new contacts.

  1. To indicate what country each contact belongs to, see View, Add, or Edit Contact Information.
